Perhaps in future years, we bhikkhunīs and friends should have a weeklong intensive commemorative meditation retreat from the full moon of September ( founding anniversary of the Bhikkhuni Sangha / International Bhikkhuni Day) to Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī Therī's Arahatship Day seven days later (Assayuja-māsaṁ Kaṇha Pakkha Aṭṭhamī Uposatha) on the half moon. This coming half moon September 24th-25th is the lunar anniversary of Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī Therī's arahatship. This past full moon September 17th-18th was the founding anniversary of the Bhikkhunī Sangha.
