About the event

Uposatha, or the lunar observance day, is a traditional time for Buddhists strengthen their practice, by undertaking the eight precepts, offering almsfood to the monastics, listening to the Dhamma, and meditating. The Uposatha Sila programs will explore the Buddha’s Teachings on “Reflection” (Paccavekkhana)

  • To very regularly reflect on our thoughts, speech and actions -- to abandon whatever is harmful to self or others, and to do only what is harmless.

  • To make mindfulness continuous, in all the postures.

  • To be more aware of states of mind.

  • To develop the wholesome Dhamma perceptions, in formal meditation and everyday experience.
