UPDATE July 31: This event is CANCELLED due to wildfire smoke affecting Aranya Bodhi Hermitage from a fire 10 miles to our north. We are safe! But the air quality is expected to be poor on Saturday August 1
Dhamma Day is celebrated on or around the full moon of July, and honors the Buddha's teaching of his first sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, meaning “Dhamma Wheel Turning Sutta.”
This year, Dhammadharini will honor this day by welcoming friends to join us at our forest hermitage for an informal afternoon of meditation in the forest, and chanting of the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, on Saturday August 1st.
Because our forest hermitage is remote and difficult to find, and requires 4WD/AWD to access, we'll ask all attendees to gather first at the monastery in Penngrove in the morning and then carpool together to the hermitage.
